Lemmings Wiki

A Trampoline is an interactive object that appears in several levels of Lemmings 2: The Tribes, 3D Lemmings, and Lemmings Touch. Trampolines allow Lemmings to quickly bounce over distances without having to walk over terrain or risk splatting from a fall.

Appearances and animation[]

In Lemmings 2: The Tribes, Trampolines appear as small rectangular Trampolines with four legs. They face upward, and are about as high as a Lemming's head.

In 3D Lemmings, Trampolines are flat black squares embedded in the ground. They have outlines at their corners indicating their color (red or blue), and large white circles in their center.

In Lemmings Touch, Trampolines have semicircle-shaped bases connecting them to the ground. Trampolines in Candy Land-styled levels resemble red wobbling jelly, and their bases resemble cyan plates. Trampolines in Space-styled levels are black, and have cyan faces with similarly colored light beam rings emanating from them.

Function[]

Lemmings 2: The Tribes[]

In Lemmings 2: The Tribes, Lemmings will walk past Trampolines with no effect, but if they land on them, they will bounce in the air going forward in the direction they were going before their fall. Landing on multiple Trampolines consecutively can help a Lemming travel a longer distance in a short amount of time. Only one Lemming can bounce off a single Trampoline at once, meaning if two Lemmings fall onto one simultaneously, only one will bounce while the other will land on the ground.

3D Lemmings[]

In 3D Lemmings, red and blue Trampolines will cause Lemmings to bounce gradually higher and lower respectively. How far a Lemming moves from a Trampoline depends on the height from which it fell onto the Trampoline; Lemmings who walk directly onto the Trampoline will be launched the shortest possible distance.

Lemmings Touch[]

In Lemmings Touch, Trampolines can be aimed by rotating them using the touchscreen. A line of dots representing the trajectory is shown when a Trampoline is touched. Trampolines can launch Lemmings who fall directly onto them or run into them after being bounced off another Trampoline or fired from a Cannon. As with Lemmings 2: The Tribes, Lemmings cannot use Trampolines by walking past them.
