The tournament is a series of contests in Lemmings: The Puzzle Adventure.
The tournament is unlocked upon reaching XP level 5 and allows a contestant to compete in ranking against other players by comparing how many lemmings they can save over the contest duration. The contestant is then correspondingly rewarded according to the achieved rank with gold, tickets, boosters, and other items. Achieving the top ranks also allows the contestant to climb to higher tournament leagues and tiers that earns them the chance to earn bigger rewards.
Leagues and tiers[]
The tournament is bracketed into the Fun League and the Tricky League, with each league having five (5) tiers to climb. All contestants start from tier 1 of the Fun League and are only promoted by achieving the top rank in their current league and tier. Contest duration and rewards will also depend on the contestant's current league and tier, with higher tiers generally having a longer contest duration and bigger rewards.
Once promoted, a contestant can no longer be relegated to a previous league or tier except for when the tournament is reset at the beginning of every season. Upon tournament restart, all contestants once again begin from tier 1 of the Fun League.
Tournament Contests[]
Contestants can start a personal contest at any time, after which the game creates a countdown and then pools ten (10) random players that will include the contestant. The game then actively records and ranks how many lemmings are rescued by each tournament participant from that point forward and until the countdown reaches zero (0).
Contest Mechanics[]
- Contests will only end after the countdown reaches zero
- Information about each opponent in the tournament is made available to the contestant, namely:
- their name
- their current save count since the contestant started the contest
- their current league and tier
- their overall save count (i.e. the number of lemmings saved in total since they started playing the game)
- their current world from the Main Universe
- their tribe-lemming collection progress
- Information is only shared one-way and tournament opponents are generally unaware of the contestant viewing their information
- All contests are personal and custom-built for each contestant with the tournament being generally designed such that none of the opponents are in actual direct competition with the contestant (note: it should still be assumed that all tournament participants are in cascading and circular competition with each other)
- A contestant may be competing with other tournament participants belonging to a different league and tier
Contest Rewards[]
Upon completion of the personal contest, the contestant is rewarded based on their finishing rank and tier. Afterwards, the contestant is given forty-eight (48) hours to log back into the game and claim their rewards before the prizes are considered abandoned.
