The tournament is a series of contests in Lemmings: The Puzzle Adventure.

The tournament is unlocked upon reaching XP level 5 and allows qualified players to compete in ranking against others by way of contests. Player rankings are determined solely by comparing how many Lemmings each participant has saved during the contest, after which players are accordingly rewarded with gold, tickets, boosters and other items, and the chance to climb higher in the tournament and earn bigger rewards.

The tournament is bracketed into two (2) leagues, the Fun League and the Tricky League, with each league having five (5) tiers to climb. Contests under each tier follow a different duration and offer different rewards.

Tournament Contests

By default, all tournament participants join in from tier 1 of the Fun League and can start a personal contest at any time, after which the game begins to record how many Lemmings are rescued by the player during the contest. This live statistic is shared with the player and actively compared against those of nine (9) other tournament participants who serve as the player's opponents in the contest. Finishing the contest with a high enough rank can also qualify the player for promotion into the next tier or league.

Contest Mechanics

  • Once promoted, a player can no longer be relegated to a previous league or tier except for when the tournament is reset at the beginning of every season. Upon tournament restart, the player once again begins from tier 1 of the Fun League.
  • Once started, a tournament contest only ends after the tournament countdown reaches zero (0:00).
  • Information about the contest opponents are made available to the player, namely:
    • each opponent's name
    • the number of Lemmings each opponent has saved since the contest started
    • the current league and tier of each opponent
    • the number of Lemmings each opponent has saved in total since starting the game
    • the current world of each opponent
    • the Tribe-Lemming collection progress of each opponent

Contest Rewards

Upon completion of a contest, the player who initiated it is rewarded based on their rank and tier. Afterwards, the player is only given 48 hours to log back into the game and claim their rewards or the prizes are considered abandoned and lost.

Chained Competition

  • There is no guarantee that a contest opponent is competing back in the same contest. And it is possible that the opponent is actually active in a different contest not involving the player at all. In fact, contest participants may sometimes belong to different tiers.
  • It is possible for a large pool of tournament participants to be in a chained competition against one other. It is also possible to set it up such that any two participants in the chain are never directly competing against one another. For example, given a set of 27 players divided into three groups of 9 random players (labeled groups A, B, and C), it is possible to:
    1. have each member of group A keep competing against the entirety of group B in 1-day contests
    2. have each member of group B keep competing against the entirety of group C in 2-day contests
    3. have each member of group C keep competing against the entirety of group A in 3-day contests
    • Given this scenario, it is possible to have each player rank at the top during the first round of contests
    • Also given this scenario, all players are only in indirect competition with one another but, ultimately, a single player raising the bar will eventually see the bar raised for everyone caught in the chain of competition.
