The Boiler Room is the second level of the Mayhem difficulty in Lemmings. It is also the twenty-fourth level of the Hard difficulty in Lemmings Touch.
Strategy[]
Assign a Builder to the first Lemming near the platform's left edge, then immediately assign a Blocker to the Lemming behind it. Keep assigning Builder skills to the Builder until it looms over the platform underneath a steel wall. Assign Builders to the Lemming at this platform's left edge until it hits the pillar holding the Exit.
Assign a Builder to the Lemming as soon as it turns around, ensuring it reaches the steel block hosting a Flamethrower Trap. When it stops building, assign a Blocker and an Exploder to the Builder. Assign an Exploder to the Blocker near the Entrance. Set the release rate to its maximum setting. Assign a Builder to any Lemming at the broken staircase's edge to reach the steel block, then assign a Builder to any Lemming who turns left at this block. All remaining Lemmings will reach the Exit.
100% strategy[]
This strategy has only been proven to work on the Sega Master System version of Lemmings, due to that version's pause feature, a shorter Flamethrower Trap, and the fact that Builders in this version do not turn around when running into other staircases.
Assign a Climber to the first Lemming once it turns left. Assign a Builder to the Climber at the platform's left edge. Repeatedly assign Builders to all Lemmings behind it once they are facing left. Assign another Builder to the Climber so that it looms above the bottom floor; allow it to fall to this floor, then immediately assign a Builder to the Lemming behind it. It is now safe to stop assigning Builders to other Lemmings.
The Climber will climb up the pillar's foot; assign a Builder to it as soon as it turns right. The Builder on the long staircase will fall onto the floating platform's right edge; immediately assign a Builder to it, then immediately assign another Builder to it after it turns right. The other Lemmings will walk toward the platform's left edge; assign a Builder to the frontmost of these, ensuring the Climber has time to finish its staircase.
Assign a Builder to any right-facing Lemming beneath the Flamethrower Trap's tip, and keep assigning Builders to it until it turns left below the steel wall. Assign a Builder to this Lemming shortly after it does so, and keep assigning Builders to it until it is above the platform with the Exit. While that Lemming is building its first staircase, assign a Builder to any right-facing Lemming beneath the steel wall's right edge, ensuring its staircase ends directly beneath the very first staircase's end. Once both Lemmings are done, assign a Builder to any right-facing Lemming who lands on the end of the staircase below the long staircase. All Lemmings will walk up the staircase leading to the Exit.
ZX Spectrum strategy[]
Have the first Lemming build to the left to get across the chasm, while the second Lemming is turned into a Blocker behind it. Once the first Lemming makes it across, start building when it is halfway under the thick wall. This way it will reach the platform where the Exit is. Once there is a safe path to the Exit, have a Lemming build over the Blocker. Raise the release rate to 99.
