Roar of the big machine is the ninth level of the Mayhem difficulty in Lemmings (PS3).

This level requires the full version of Lemmings to be played. As the ninth level of the Mayhem difficulty, it also requires the player to win at least six levels from the Mayhem difficulty to be unlocked.

Strategy[]

This level has three Entrance portals. Each spawns Lemmings atop a floating platform that can only be dug from its left. Tall destructible walls stand between each consecutive pair of Entrances; however, there is nothing stopping the Lemmings from walking off the edges. Allow the first Lemming from the leftmost Entrance to fall off the platform. It will land onto a pillar with a contraption above it, leading into a dead end. Assign a Builder to this Lemming to close the gap.

The Lemmings from the left Entrance will walk onto a thin floor connecting this pillar to another one. Assign a Builder to any Lemming close to the middle pillar who is facing right. These Lemmings will walk onto another thin floor, connecting the middle pillar to a large box; the Lemmings from the rightmost Entrance have also been falling into this area. There is a row of left-only destructible material in the center of this box. Assign two Builders to a Lemming facing right, so that the staircase lines up with this part of the box.

To get the Lemmings from the middle Entrance out and into the thin floor, assign a Basher to any Lemming facing the wall to their left. Set the release rate to 99 and wait for the last Lemming to emerge from the right Entrance. Assign a Builder to this Lemming once it reaches the edge of the platform. It will run into the top portion of the box and turn around. After the Lemming walks into the other destructible wall and turns around, assign the Climber to it.

The Climber will climb onto the box and across the indestructible walls at its top. At the right edge of the box, there is an indestructible wall with an overhang. As soon as the Climber climbs and falls, assign the Digger to it; the Exit portal is to the right of this area, so make sure the Digger leaves no material behind at its right.

Once the Climber is slightly below the level of the metal floor housing the Exit, assign the last Basher to it. All other Lemmings will walk through the tunnel to the Exit. The Climber will climb up the big contraption above the left edge of the floor, then turn around to follow the path created earlier. One Floater and one Blocker will remain in the inventory.
