Lemmings Wiki
For the screen in Lemmings Touch that displays achievable Objectives, see Objectives.

An Objective Screen[1] or level preview screen[2] is a screen seen after selecting a level in most entries of the Lemmings series. It displays the quantities of various contents of a level.

Lemmings and Oh No! More Lemmings[]

In Lemmings, the Objective Screen includes the amount of Lemmings present, how many Lemmings must be saved, and how much time is given. Some ports display which skills are available to use. Some ports also display a preview image showing the level's layout.

In the Windows 9x port of Lemmings and Oh No! More Lemmings, the Objective Screen is integrated as part of the Select Level dialog.

3D Lemmings[]

In 3D Lemmings, the Objective Screen primarily features thematically matching artwork. The player can either continue directly to the level, go to the main menu, or press the Preview button to open a full display of the level's layout. The level's other properties are shown in the top left corner when Preview is selected. These include, from top to bottom:

  • Level number and name
  • How many Lemmings are present
  • How many Lemmings must be saved
  • Minimum release rate
  • Time given
  • Rating

Lemmings Paintball[]

In Lemmings Paintball, the Objective Screen is fully integrated within the level select screen, matching the layouts of level select screens of mainline games that do not feature a dedicated Objective Screen. It displays the number of controllable Lemmings, the number of Flags to capture, and how much time is given to complete the level.

Lemmings Touch[]

In Lemmings Touch, the level preview screen displays a preview map of the level along with how many Lemmings and Mischievous Lemmings are present in a level. The largest number of stars the player obtained when completing the level is shown above the level's name. The bottom right button proceeds to the level, while the bottom left button returns the player to the previously selected column within the level select screen.

The skills and their quantities are shown above the preview map, from left to right:

The color of the background sky changes depending on the tileset of the level being previewed. A Hell-styled level gives it a red color, a Crystal Cave-styled level gives it a teal color, an Egyptian-styled level gives it a blue color, a Space-styled level gives it a dark purple color, and a Candy Land-styled level gives it a pink color.
