Lemmings Wiki

Several games of the Lemmings series display loading screens while levels or Objective Screens are in the process of being loaded. These are distinguished from blank screens used in other titles by featuring unique graphics, including animations in some cases.

Gameplay mechanics[]

  • Always try and get the most stars available, the more stars you gain the more levels you will unlock.
  • Any object that pulses within the level can be interacted with, use these objects to help complete the level.
  • Don't trust those liftable objects, they'll crush those Lemmings the minute you look away.

  • Watch out for the Mischievous Lemmings, they aren't here to play nice!
  • You can interact with more than one object at a time!

Lemmings' behavior[]

  • Build into a Blocker to create a greater angle in the opposite direction
  • Change direction quickly by using the Digger or Miner skill to create a small hole, then change to a Builder to hit the side of the hole,[sic] this will cause the Lemming to change direction.
  • Firing a Lemming with the Climber skill into a wall will cause the Lemming to stick to the wall and climb
  • If there are no Blockers available, give one Lemming a Digger or Miner skill to create a hole.
  • Lemmings aren't very bright, they will carry on walking until they are given a skill or hit an object.
  • Lemmings don't get hurt when fired from a cannon or using a trampoline.
  • Mine or bash under a Blocker to free them
  • Stop a Builder by using a Digger, Miner or Basher.
  • The Mischievous Lemmings can also be assigned skills to help complete the level, just don't let them get to the exit.

Notes[]

  • "To Lemming or not to Lemming; that is the question." is a reference to the quote "To be, or not to be; that is the question." from the play "Hamlet".
  • "Do not feed Mischievous Lemmings after midnight." is likely a reference to the film "Gremlins".
  • The Lemmings Touch quote about the Lemming "Bob" may be a reference to a prior skit on Robot Chicken parodying Lemmings; in it, one Lemming addresses another Lemming named Bob, who speaks in response. In a later scene, a Lemming with the same voice as Bob (likely being the same character) exclaims "I retire tomorrow!" while falling from an unfinished bridge.
