It's hero time! is the third level of the Mayhem difficulty in Lemmings.
DOS Strategy[]
Or better yet... FRUSTRATION time! As easy as this level was back then in the "Fun" difficulty, now it's as hard. Not only you have one skill of everything, there is nothing you can do about the unimaginably strict time limit! Add the fact that you have to save every possible Lemming, and you have a recipe for an impossible level!
So we're going to use a trick at first. In the very nanosecond the level begins, hit the pause button, and do not continue until the level start sound effects stop. This way you can save two to three seconds - which you will desperately need!
First, use a Miner ability on the very last Lemming in the line! When it reaches the slanted group at the one-way block, make it a Basher. Right after that, use the Climber and the Floater skills on the very first Lemming in the line! When the Basher went through the one-way block, use the Builder skill to turn it around. When the Athlete reaches the ground, wait for it to arrive just before the exit door, and use a Digger skill. All that is left is to pray your Lemmings will make it inside before the timer runs out. If you did everything right, the last Lemming should leave exactly with two seconds to spare.
Alternate strategy #1[]
Turn the second Lemming into a Miner once he's above the second platform and before the one-way block, while the first Lemming is turned into an Athlete. Have the first Lemming start bashing through the one-way block but turn him into a Builder once the tunnel is deep enough so that all Lemmings start turning around. Once the Athlete is standing above the platform where the exit is located, have him dig down so that all Lemmings can reach it.
Alternate strategy #2[]
This strategy can save more time.
Make the first lemming a Digger before the slanted block. The second lemming would not fall into the Digger's tunnel. Have the third lemming bash through the slanted block while your second lemming becomes an Athlete. When your Athlete is about to finish bashing the one-way block, use the Builder skill. The Trailblazer will climb up the steel block, and fall. When the Athlete touches the ground, use the Miner skill to create a path to the exit. You will have 31 to 29 seconds to spare to have your lemmings to leave. When all your lemmings leave the exit, you have 9 to 7 seconds left.
