Energy saving is a type of mayhem level in Lemmings: The Puzzle Adventure which requires the player to save every lemming. Unlike challenge levels or other mayhem levels that are played with unlimited energy, "energy saving" levels are played with predefined energy limits. The energy limit is always set below the standard 60 Main Universe energy limit for non-VIP players and there is virtually no energy replenishment in effect.[1] When players manage to consume all their energy without solving the level, they are often left with no choice but to quit the level.

- Energy saving levels have been criticized for their seemingly arbitrary energy limits, sometimes giving players over twice the minimum energy needed from the most efficient solution.
- A known bug on some of the game's versions has the lemmings sometimes consume energy without actually performing the instruction the energy was used for. Occurrences of this bug might render some energy saving levels to become unsolvable.
