A Collectible is an object that appears in numerous levels of Lemmings (PS3). When a Lemming walks into a Collectible, the Collectible adds an additional use for one ability to the Ability Panel. Like Teleporters and Cloning Machines, Collectibles do not appear in level preview maps.
Biography[]
"Collectible abilities can be picked up by Lemmings just by walking over them. Once collected, the ability may be given to any of your Lemmings." - Sixth page of "How To Play" guide in Lemmings (PS3)
Appearance and animation[]
A Collectible has an identical appearance to a highlighted icon in the Ability Panel: a dark blue circle with a yellow outline, containing the design associated with the ability it provides a copy of.
When idle, a Collectible floats in place, continually altering between stretching vertically while becoming slimmer and stretching horizontally while becoming flatter. When collected, a Collectible drops to the ground and squashes slightly, emits bright star particles, and then jumps into the air whilst rotating like a coin. It drops slightly before disappearing.
Uses[]
Collectibles provide a single additional copy of the indicated ability to be used via the Ability Panel. They often must be obtained in order perform the steps needed to complete a level, as the level will not provide enough abilities at the start to complete it. A Lemming can collect a Collectible regardless of what it is doing, or what permanent abilities it has.

Notes[]
- Collectibles bear similarities to Tools from The Lemmings Chronicles, in that both are collected by Lemmings, and provide Lemmings the ability to perform actions. The key differences between the two lie in how they are transferred to other Lemmings; a Tool must be either used by the Lemming that picked it up, or dropped to be used by another Lemming, while a Collectible can be applied to any Lemming at any point.
