Cascade is the twenty-fifth level of the Tricky difficulty in Lemmings. It is also the twenty-fourth level of the Taxing difficulty in Lemmings Touch.
Strategy[]
This level is notable for its release rate being set to maximum by default, and its unusually low save rate. This is because the Lemmings are about to escalate a long set of ascending staircase-shaped blocks. They cannot survive falling from it; however, if Floater skills are assigned to 10 Lemmings, those Lemmings will survive. Assign a Floater to the first Lemming just before it hits the ground, so that it will have enough time to work ahead.
Assign Floaters to any nine Lemmings among the last in line (or four, for the ZX Spectrum version). Meanwhile, assign a Builder to the existing Floater at the edge of the pillar to reach a wall. When it does, quickly assign a Basher to it. Immediately after the Basher reaches the other end, assign one last Builder skill to get over the gap between it and the platform with the Exit. All remaining Floaters will reach the Exit.
100% solution[]
This solution only works in versions of Lemmings with both the ability to select specific Lemmings in a crowded space and the ability to pause the game to apply skills.
Assign a Builder to the second Lemming when it is directly next to the first step, so that it turns left. Assign a Builder to it again when it is at the platform's left edge. Assign a Digger to the first Lemming directly next to a step once it is higher up, then assign a Builder to it to stop it. This ensures Lemmings cannot walk past this point.
Assign a Climber to any walking Lemming. As the Climber falls, assign a Floater to it. Assign a Builder to the Athlete at the edge of the pillar, but allow it to turn left. Once the Athlete is back on the stair blocks leading up to this pillar, assign a Builder to it; do so again each time it runs out of stairs, until it turns right.
Assign a Basher to the Athlete when it meets the wall again. Immediately after the Basher reaches the other end, assign one last Builder skill to get over the gap between it and the platform with the Exit. Assign a Miner to any Lemming facing right on a portion of the left stair blocks above the staircase. All Lemmings will reach the Exit.
