A Ditch Too Far is the second level of the Taxing difficulty in Lemmings Touch. As part of the first column of Taxing, it is unlocked after at least fifty stars are attained from levels in the Tricky difficulty.
Strategy[]
The Lemmings begin on a platform whose side is tilted and leads into an acid pool. Assign a Builder to the first Lemming when it is at the edge of this platform's top. Assign a Digger to the second Lemming, and assign a Builder to it when other Lemmings cannot leave its hole. Set the release rate to its maximum setting.
The first Lemming will walk onto a second platform; assign a Builder to it when it is at this platform's right edge. The Builder will walk onto a third platform, which is similar to the second; assign a Builder to it when it is at this platform's right edge. The Builder will walk onto a fourth platform; the gap between this platform and the next, which has the Exit portal, is larger. Let the Lemming walk onto the tilted side of the platform, then assign a Builder to it shortly after.
While waiting, assign a Builder to any Lemming facing left who is adjacent to the right wall in the Digger's hole. Then, assign a Builder to any Lemming facing right who is adjacent to the left wall in the Digger's hole. Assign a Builder to the Builder on the fourth platform when it runs out of stairs; do so again if it still has not reached the final platform. All Lemmings will be able to reach the Exit.
Notes[]
- This level's name is a play on the idiom "a bridge too far", which has an origin within Operation Market Garden. The specific source of inspiration could have been the book titled "A Bridge Too Far" based on those events, or the film bearing the same name, which was based on the book.
